Imbalala/ Roasted Groundnuts

 Ingredients

  • Dry whole peanuts
  • Cassava Tuber ( If desired)
  • 1/2 Tb Salt
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • Cooktop

  • Medium sized non stick pan
  • A Cooking Stick

Preparation

  1. On a frying pan place the whole peanuts and start to roast tossing them as you roast.
  2. When the peanuts have browned, in a cup with water add some salt and dissolve.
  3. Using a spoon add this salty solution to the peanuts 
  4. Once the peanut look whitish/grey and still firm this means the peanuts are done.

  • Total time: 10 minutes
  • Prep time:  5 minutes
  • Cook time: 5 minutes

1-2 Cups


Chef’s Tip

To enhance the flavor, you can fry in small amount of oil. For a crunchier taste, leave longer in the pan to roast well done.
