Mud Fish is a popular Delicacy among the Chishinga people of Kawambwa district in the Northern part of Zambia.
This group of people are known for fishing hammered catfish, locally known as Imbowa.
During the rain season, imbowa (Mud Fish), Imilonge (barbel fish) and income(spirobranchus) will swim in the direction of overflowing water and after the rains, the water recedes. Once the water recedes This specific fish would get stuck in the mud and easily picked by men and women
